The Villa Malpensa is a beautiful hotel. The architecture is really beautiful. However, my personal experience yesterday wasn't as spectacular as some reviews I've read.

The personnel appeared annoyed and bothered by our presence, even though we spoke italian. Our room came with two VERY small twin beds and an air conditioner that didn't work. Not being a deep sleeper I awoke throughout the night to a bubbling noise that came from the bathroom pipes. The shower was excellent however, the curtain was bolted to the wall and hung into the tub. Every shower resulted in the curtain sticking to me with every turn. The alarm in the bathroom had also been disconnected and the ceiling light had no cover and was a florescent bulb.

The grounds are nice but the hotel is out in the boonies. Although you are SO close to the airport, (blocks) I never heard a plane take off, (great insulation). The hotel is clean and wonderful as a place to go when you have an early flight out the next day.

Oddly enough, I'd stay there again, if only for the convenience.
